1 Journeyman Electrician (foreman) and 3 Apprentice Electricians rotating between 2-4-man crews.
We were tasked with comprehensively overhauling the electrical system at Athleta's new store location at IS2 LLC. The project included disconnecting and making it safe for a demo, installing temporary lighting and power, and providing all new tenant wiring, power receptacles, and electrical equipment. This also involved relocating existing panels and transformers, extending conduits and feeders, installing recessed floor and wall boxes, and ensuring all conduits were in place for low-voltage vendor installations. The team installed owner-furnished light fixtures and lamps, which all required unistrut and threaded rods, and included a door buzzer system and transformer support per the detailed plans.
Throughout the Athleta project, our team faced several unique challenges:
Relocating the panels was a complex task that required careful coordination with Center Point, the local energy company. The process involved turning the power on and off over a weekend, which presented logistical challenges and required precise timing to ensure a smooth transition.
Late changes due to framing mistakes by others required efficient and clean re-work to keep client costs at a minimum.
Our team maintained close internal communication and strategic manpower allocation to address these challenges effectively.
These practices helped minimize waste and ensure every step added value to the overall project.
As part of the project, we integrated a sophisticated light control package. This system, controlled by preprogrammed time clocks, allowed for precise control of the lighting schedule. It was a testament to our team's ability to adapt to and implement advanced technologies in our projects.
The Athleta project was executed meticulously and innovatively, leaving a lasting impression on all involved.
The final client was satisfied and highly pleased with the project completed within schedule and budget. This positive outcome significantly increased our chances of securing more work from this general contractor.
The project involved approximately 2000 man-hours of impeccable execution, instilling confidence in our ability to deliver high-quality work. Enhanced Efficiency: Lean Construction Practices ensured a smooth, cost-effective, and efficient project delivery.
